Valentine Greenway Challenge
February 7, 2026
The 4th Annual Valentine Greenway Challenge is a perfect example of how achievable goals can be fun! The race consists of a 5K and a kids fun run along a newly-designed course, which begins near the picnic pavilion at Lake Tomahawk. Per tradition, runners are encouraged to dress up in their funkiest outfit for a chance to win one of several spirit awards. This year's spirit awards will consist of gift cards to local businesses along with other parks & rec swag. Prizes will also be awarded to the overall winners and the 1st place finishers in each age category.
This year's race has a goal of raising $50,000 to go towards replacing the greenway bridge along the Oaks Trail at Veterans Park that was swept away by Tropical Storm Helene. Interested runners and walkers can learn more and register here: https://raceroster.com/events/2026/112664/2026-valentine-greenway-challenge
