A Breath of Fresh Air

This Spring, discover Black Mountain’s Ascension Series, Monarch Weigh Station volunteer opportunities, and other outdoor adventures

Are you visiting Black Mountain, North Carolina this Spring? Once you arrive, the first thing you should do is stop. Don’t unload the car just yet. Look around. Take some deep breaths. You are here, now, breathing in the most beautiful landscapes in Western North Carolina.

If you want that feeling to last, we encourage you to spend as much time outdoors as possible while you’re visiting our mountain town. A great way to do that is to experience nature through the eyes of us locals. So c’mon! Join us in our parks and outdoor spaces that make up our home sweet home.

Take a hike with our Spring Ascension Series

Join the Town of Black Mountain for our annual Spring Ascension Series! Choose your favorite activities from this 14-event series, which offers many options for exploring and learning about the gorgeous parks and trails of Western North Carolina. If you’re looking for ways to help our area continue its clean up from Hurricane Helene, you can also choose from one of three litter sweeps.

All programs are FREE, but registration is required and space is limited. Learn more about each program and sign up using this link: https://bmrp.recdesk.com/Community/Program
