Western North Carolina is rich with musical heritage and history, and the Black Mountain Blues Festival not only celebrates the soul of the mountains but the heart of its people.

From September 26-28, 2025, the second annual Black Mountain Blues Festival takes place in multiple venues throughout Black Mountain, North Carolina. The three-day weekend features incredible performances by a wide range of blues artists. In addition to live music, festival organizers promise educational opportunities like panel discussions, plus open blues jams and vendors.

The Black Mountain Blues Festival is co-hosted by White Horse Black Mountain and presented by the Black Mountain Blues® Society. According to the website, the non-profit Black Mountain Blues® Society is “dedicated to connecting communities through music and culture-keeping initiatives.” Their mission with the Festival is to curate a great experience for blues fans, cultivate new fans of the genre, support the local economy, and give local artists the opportunity to showcase their talents.

Here’s something else that will tug at your heartstrings: 50% of net proceeds from the 2025 Black Mountain Blues Festival will support local Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.
