Flowers Everywhere: Get your tickets now for the Garden Party at the Dr. John Wilson Community Garden
As we approach the one year anniversary of Hurricane Helene, what better way than to gather in a spirit of renewal?
Since the flooding of this treasured green space in late September 2024, volunteers, interns, Town staff, and supporters have developed and moved forward with a renewed vision of the Garden, transforming impacted areas from washed out beds into a blooming field of flowers.
Now, you can help us celebrate our rebirth!
You’re invited to attend the 2025 Garden Party in the Dr. John Wilson Community Garden on Sunday, September 7 starting at 4 p.m. Hosted by the Friends of the Community Gardens Black Mountain, this year’s Garden Party theme is FLOWERS EVERYWHERE. The event program includes a locally-sourced dinner, live music from Becki Janes and the Farm to Jazz Trio, tours of the native pollinator garden, and workshops in bouquet picking/design and medicinal tea tasting.
Proceeds from your annual Garden Party ticket purchase directly support the garden’s internship program, community education, and garden infrastructure needs so that it can continue to support Bounty & Soul. Bounty & Soul is the Garden’s non-profit partner which provides nutritious food distribution to throughout the Swannanoa Valley.
