Farm to Your Table
Locally grown, community cultivated. That’s the Black Mountain Tailgate Market, which is back in 2025 and better than ever!
From now through November 22, start your Saturday at the Black Mountain Tailgate Market, a weekly community event featuring a variety of farmers, makers and artisans. At the Tailgate Market, you can shop for organic and sustainably grown produce, plants, cut flowers, herbs, locally raised meats, seafood, baked goods, juices, cheeses, and eggs. Yum! Additionally, the market offers an eclectic selection of handcrafted items including pottery, jewelry, apparel, home decor, and more.
Take it from a local. Everything at the Tailgate Market is so fresh and delicious! Plus, all the vendors are super friendly, and they’re all true experts in their fields (pardon the pun) of Western North Carolina horticulture. Every time I shop there, I always learn something new.
At the Tailgate Market, your kids are invited to participate in children’s activities, and your entire family can enjoy live music by local musicians! Bring a blanket or lawn chair so you can kick back and take in the show. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are always welcome. Follow @blackmountainmarket on Facebook and Instagram for the most up-to-date concert schedule, map, sponsors, parking, and more.
The first time you visit, be sure to stop by the Black Mountain Tailgate Market tent where you can learn more about the organization’s educational endeavors including wellness, health, sustainability, and nutrition programs. You can make a donation to support their mission, and they have really cute merch (proceeds from sales support their efforts).
See you this Saturday!

Post-Helene Recovery
The Black Mountain Tailgate Market is working hard to support the long-term recovery of our community following the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene. Their efforts include their Mutual Aid Fund and a "Pay It Forward" Program, which ensures everyone has access to healthy, locally-grown food.
The Market is EBT friendly, and thanks to ASAP—Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project—the Market will double EBT dollars up to $20 in farm fresh tokens.
